What does the photo at the citizens’ office cost?
€6.00 nationwide if the office uses the Federal Printing Office’s system; offices with other systems may charge differently.
The photo is taken directly before your appointment and goes digitally to the authority. Foreigners’ authorities charge the same €6.00 for photos for the electronic residence permit; see residence permit photo.
When is an online photo enough?
Whenever the authority or company accepts a photo you provide yourself: driving licence (printed), health insurance card (upload), many visas and all job applications.
FotoKlar costs €7.99 including the digital file and a 10 × 15 cm print sheet; you only pay for the lab print on top. Read how to print on printing passport photos.
